The goal of the foundation called ‘JAZZ ISLAND PROMOTIONS CURAÇAO' (JIP-C) is to promote the local music of the island Curaçao in the broadest sense, be it jazz, or other fields of music.
We also aim to share our music with people from abroad. One of the means to do so is to stimulate an interchange of experiences of musicians and music lovers of our island and others.

Music is an international language with no boundaries of any religious or political and even economic or racial kind. So we consider it as our challenge to interpret each and every activity we do in this light. An important approach we stick to is to also involve the Curaçao youth in our projects and to stimulate interest among upcoming music lovers and still to be musicians.

In brief: JIP-C (just say ‘Gypsy…') originated in 2006 and has been set up by a group of jazz and world music lovers, living in Curaçao. We admit that as a young organization our foundation does not have a long history of activities to it's disposal to present to you. However this sure is our firm intention for the years to come. Curaçao finds itself in the middle of so many important cultural and historical influences, being part of the unique world of Caribbean islands. Each with their inter-island influences and strategically located between the Northern Americas, South and Central America . Here we experience those peculiar links and historical influences from so many countries; as far as from the African continent, Europe and also further east.

And since jazz , as part of the broader scene called world music is, even more so than other musical styles, a representative of those multiple influences and a showcase of an ongoing development, we as JIP-C people (just say Gypsies…….) feel excited to share our musical attraction with you. Feel free to browse a little further on our website and do not hesitate to communicate with us and share with us your suggestions and comments. Through our website we plan to give you more information on our island, musical events and other cultural activities that will take place. You will also be able to learn more of the musicians who live in Curaçao and of whom we think deserve more exposure. Music is our way of living and we want to share our music with you, our appreciated visitor. Curaçao music and actually any kind of music being performed in the setting of this musical island is worth being experienced, whether you prefer to just listen and savor the music or dance to it. That is also the reason why we think that on the big tree of world music and jazz, there is a branch of home made Curaçao music blossoming.
